Monthly NJ and NYC Outings - Day Trips

There is much to discover in New Jersey and New York and we keep our members on the move with trips to stunning parks like the New York Botanical Gardens, Grounds for Sculpture and The Cloisters, to name just a few. We organize visits to museums, walks through historic towns and lunchtime music renditions. Our New York City trips have included tours of NBC Studios, food tours in trendy neighborhoods and art exhibits in the vibrant city.

Red Mill Museum & Hunterdon Art Museum, Clinton

Tuesday, November 12

This month we are going to be combining the two museums in Clinton's downtown area. The Red Mill has a small but interesting collection with historic outbuildings and a rich history. We will meet at 10am for the Red Mill and then attend a tour at the Art museum at 11am, which will take around an hour. The Red Mill Museum has an outstanding collection of more than 40,000 agricultural, industrial and domestic artifacts, which are exhibited on both a permanent and rotating basis. Each object in the collection holds the story of who made it and reflects the chain of people who put it to use throughout its life.

​Afterwards we will call into Balic Wines of Clinton for a free wine tasting to whet our appetites and then on for a well-deserved lunch together. The location for lunch will depend on the number in our party, so I will confirm closer to the time. 10am for both museums or 11am if you just wish to attend the Art Museum.

Cost of the visit: Red Mill $5. Art museum $12 or $10 for seniors
