Coffee Mornings
Monthly coffee get-togethers
Most of our club members are meeting other members and making new friends. Our monthly coffee get-togethers provide an excellent forum for us.
Each month, a different member opens her house and hosts the coffee morning. IFC members and guests sample delicious cakes and coffee while reacquainting with old friends and making new ones.
At one of our events, we showcased the beauty and culture of the Japanese kimono, given by a certified professional kimono dresser from our group. Additionally, she provided instruction on proper kimono donning methods. Below is her presentation and some of the pictures.
Presentation
In one of our recent events, we shared the rich history of Russian miniature hand-painted lacquer boxes that goes back to the 18th century. We learned about the many ways these decorative masterpieces evolved from a native born in Moscow, Russia. She is a graduate of Moscow University with a specialty in Slavic Studies.
